Description
This module covers the potential dangers of the increased use of CT in children and how to minimize these risks. The course explains the effects of ionizing radiation on different levels; reviews the basics of physics that impact the radiation dose; reviews the guidelines to optimize diagnostic image quality and reduce the CT radiation dose; discusses the challenges and the requirements for imaging the pediatric population; and provides the considerations and steps for the development of CT pediatric protocols.
